I've been thinking about taking a trip out to Arizona come spring or early summer. Decided to take a look at the website of what used to be Curly Bill's B&B in Tombstone and discovered that the property is up for sale. My friends Sally & Jerry used to own the house, but sold it a couple of years back so they could retire. Looks like the new ( Read more... )

I don't know the whole story, but I'm glad you're at this place. <3

Katherine was someone I loved very much who killed herself in March of 2004. If you click on the "katherine" tag, it will give you more background.

So very glad you are thinking of going back, and can pick up the loves that were taken away.

{{{HUGS}}} I do know some of the history, if not all. There's a fair bit she never wanted to face, and I sort of picked things up from what she didn't say, and things you told me later. At any rate, I did know it was a survival mechanism that she learned at an early age, one she was never able to get rid of.

Your own bravery is well worth noting.

I'm not one of those folks who think you have to suffer in order for your art to be any good. But experience, good or horrid, can give your work a depth it might not otherwise have had. And writing is also an excellent way of purging your inner demons.

I'm glad to hear that you are finding joy in writing Westerns, and in re-discovering beautiful Arizona. Some place speak to our souls, and even though others may hurt it temporarily, we do return to that place somehow.

DH and I went travelling around AZ years ago and we'd go back in a flash. My Arizona aunties are still in Scottsdale, for starters.

Arizona is the only other place I've lived that I love as much as Florida. I like California, but it doesn't speak to me the way the Arizona desert does, or the way Florida's Gulf Coast does.
