[BPAL] The Last Rose of Summer and Whoso List to Hunt

Aug 25, 2009 18:12

Looks like I may have to revise my "no rose notes" stance somewhat, as I have now found two more blends containing roses that I can wear.

The first is an LE: The Last Rose of Summer. You'd think with a name like that, I would have steered clear of it. HOWEVER. Here's the description from the Lab:

A quiet, solitary scent: white rose, ( Read more... )

I almost never wear scents, but I always read your BPAL posts and really want to test them out with you. My nose isn't nearly as sophisticated or discerning.

I never used to wear scent before I discovered BPAL. Most commercial perfumes don't work on me at all, or else set my allergies off. And picking out the individual notes is an acquired skill, like tasting all the different notes in a fine wine. The more you practice, the better you get. :)

ETA: Also? Next time we get together, we'll have to get out the sniffies and let you try some. I think you'd like it.

I would like rain and thunder, please.

I really hope that Last Rose works as well on me as it does you. I'm pretty sure that I popped it into my last order, on the basis of how much sandalwood, frankincense, and patchouli usually like me.

Which reminds me: did I point out the patchouli on the plant stand? (Also, I wish that we could teleport you here and avoid your altitude reaction: City Floral is doing a container gardening class on Saturday morning, with bottomless mimosas to sweeten the deal. I'm tempted to go just to watch all of the lightweights get silly halfway through their second glass.)

It'll probably work even better on you, seeing how you don't have my rose issues.

Also? Mmmmm, mimosas....
