I saw the obit, and I've read about her, but I didn't realize you'd known her personally. She was a remarkable woman.

Damn. We're losing the great ones.

I have her last book, Dark Age Ahead, sitting in my "to be read" pile. I envy you for having known her personally.

I heard a lovely story about her on NPR tonight. They played a clip of her speaking and she sounded just so great. I'm glad you got to know her.

Ah jeez.

You know, I picked up Death and Life completely at random, in a used book store, just because it was cheap & looked interesting. It was the first time I became aware of the way our physical surroundings get organized & how that affects our lives. Given that I may well be going into architecture, this book literally changed my life.
