Dude, if I lived in Birmingham, I'd come over and help you resod.

Metaphorically-speaking, of course.

How much of the Appalachian Trail have you walked? It looks gorgeous. Would love to be there in spring.

Do you backpack and stuff?

i don't backpack but I do hike a lot. there's a bunch of trails local to me that I try and visit once a month or so.

as for the appalachian trail, about 50 yards or so of it. Only 1999.999 miles to go. I do want to walk the full thing one of these days, although the full 3-5 month excursion might be a bit unrealistic, no matter how appealing that sounds.

but who knows, one day maybe.

heh.

right on.
Haven't done much of that since I got pregnant. Can't wait til my son's old enough to go hiking without getting too tuckered out.

I like the Burke-Gilman / Samammish River Trail. It's pretty nice, especially once you get out of the urban area and it starts to follow the river. We don't walk it as much as I'd like, but I've been from the beginning where it says, "Gasworks Park," to where it says, "Woodinville." Not in one go, but little consecutive 3-mile walks.

I don't know why I'm chattering on.

One of those days, I guess.
