[ The restaurant that Arthur chose for the evening is a small, tastefully decorated venue. The staff even went so far as to set the mood with candle lighting this evening, which he doesn't really mind ( Read more... )

[ Who knows how space and time work but presumably Lightning eats and well, this may or may not happen before she goes back or to City Solutions for a shift. When she slides into the seat across from Arthur it's as purposeful as it is stilted: very, on both accounts. ]

Nice place.

[ The dry tone? It's...really dry. ]

[ Arthur looks up from his menu. ]

And I see you dressed for the occasion.

[ He's joking, of course. ]

[ The joke gets a slight sound that isn't a laugh but there's humor inherent in the shift of her shoulders and the brief nod of her head. ]

Getting to Solutions today is like a training program. The worst training program ever imagined, specifically.

[ Yes that's her opinion on it as she'd much rather cut her way through some unsightly creatures to get to work than 'date' a vague thirty or forty people en route. Still, she lifts the menu on her side, gathering the gist of this 'option', scanning its contents. ]

At least it's you.

[ That is half muttered, but Arthur can likely pick up on it anyway. She is in no small amount of fervency thinking: at least it's not ____________. Sadly that blank can be filled with a fair few names though sitting across from Arthur automatically has Light filling in said blank with That Guy with the fake rock wall - William Pierce as it were or whatever. But if that's his real name Light will presently eat all of the silverware ( ... )

So I noticed. Yet another curse, I'm sure.

[ Arthur snorts dismissively before going back to his menu. If he's heard what Lightning just muttered, he doesn't show any sign of it. ]

I'm not keeping you from work, am I?

[She sits down across from him, dressed sleekly in an extremely fashionable dress and killer high heels]

I prefer red.

[ He looks up from his menu and regards Saya calmly. He seems more amused than surprised. ]

I'm sorry to disappoint, then.

I'll survive.

[She smiles a little]

I admire the cut of your suit, Arthur.

[ He laughs softly, though not unkindly. ]

I thought I'd go all out tonight.

[Cinna slides into the seat across from Arthur.]

Lovely suit, you must tell me who your tailor is.

[ He stops to consider Cinna's remark. ]

This was one I had made in Toronto, if I remember right. [ Which he does. ]

Whoever he or she is, they do excellent work. How have you been, Arthur?

I've been getting by pretty well, as always. And you, Cinna?

[Rosella isn't technically looking for a meal, per se, nor is she here because she's seeking out a date; all things considered, she's probably here by chance, either from ducking into the restaurant to avoid some other eager pursuer on the street, or simply stepping in on her way home from a late stay at the Library to warm up a bit before continuing her long walk back to the Warehouse. But regardless, she's here, and when she catches a glimpse of Arthur, she can't help but head over to say hello.

He's probably expecting someone, given the setup of the table, but it couldn't hurt to take a minute for a brief exchange of greetings, could it?]

Hello, Arthur!

[Dawn sits down across of him as if she's supposed to be there. She picks up a menu as well, perusing her options.]

So, do you know what's good here or should I just play russian roulette with the menu here. Not that I've ever actually played russian roulette.
