Will someone be so kind as to tell me what "homo" means?

(Not that I am asking because someone has been repeatedly calling me that and refusing to say what it means.)

This does not bother me in the least! I am merely curious about the variations in slang.

Is that so? I felt quite sure from context that it was some kind of insult!

Homo - Genus of species that includes modern humans (Homo sapiens) and their close relatives, from the latin word Homo meaning "man" or "person".

Why, that scarcely means anything at all!

How could that be an insult?

It's short for "homosexual," which should tell you all you need to know.

Should it? Hmm. Maybe. Where have I heard that word before?

Oh. Yes! Of course!

That explains everything!
