Next term, of my own free will and as well as hopefully having a real job, I may be starting teaching a number of ickle cellists, cello groups and kiddie orchestras on a Saturday morning. I'm starting an internship in October! Finally I have something to shout about on the job front... It feels good to know that I'll start doing something useful soon.

Went busking again today and was given a bunch of carnations by one man. Last week; biscuits, this week; flowers!

I like busking -  it seems to bring out something good in people. People like live music, and it makes them feel good to give something. It's nice to think I've brightened someone's day for a few minutes, and it's good to be earning ( Read more... )

I've spent the last few days taking my phone everywhere with me around the house, waiting for either my temping agency to call, or this company that I had an interview with on Monday. Got up at 5.30am to drive my parents to the station - they're going on holiday overseas for the first time in years. Am starting to droop now (knew I should have gone back to bed).

I went busking yesterday. One woman stopped, fished in her shopping and gave me a packet of biscuits, saying, "You must eat!"

She also asked if I was at college, so no - she didn't think I was a beggar.

At least, I don't think so...

I'm pretty much unemployed now, though I prefer to think of it as 'freelance'. Have tried to get a temping job while I apply for proper things, but all the agencies are full (damn those returning students). I have fixated on a new goal, though ( Read more... )
