I don't know if there's a particular technique to onion selection, but I used to put the onion(s) in the fridge for an hour or so before I started cutting them up. It did help reduce the crying, though I don't know why. hahah

As long as it works lol! XD Well I will try that out. I used to put them in the fridge, these few months I haven't been doing that because sometimes the fridge is full and vegs can always be outside the fridge for a short while so....

Maybe that IS the solution? 8D (I bet the fridge kind of freezes the water/liquid inside the onion that makes you cry so that's why you don't get to cry much?)

Thanks for the tip =)

Make out with me and I will tell you *winks*

Just pick and cut them under water, dear :"> or you can wear glasses :">

Uh... do I know you? o.O; (lol)

I do wear glasses, glasses does not help. I haven't tried cutting them in water because I had this notion where the nutrients will go away... (Then again if you cook it I guess it still goes away)
Besides, wet onions may create lots of oil spitting when stir frying them oil - me scared 8D;

Thanks for the tips though =)

I haven't found anyway to avoid it really. Supposedly if you cut it the right way then it doesn't release the chemicals that make you cry, but I have never managed it.

Alternately, I guess... goggles. Complete eye protection. :P

They have a 'right way' of cutting it? 8D; But I think I've tried many ways and the results are the same (Thus conclusion = me fail)

Lol, well unfortunately can't wear them without glasses (Don't have contact lens either) The idea of accidentally slashing my fingers instead of the hated onion... lol! XD;

How are you keeping? I hope you're well =)
