• I can breathe again!  Maybe the cold I've had since before Christmas is finally moving on... fingers crossed.
• N has started sorting through old journals/magazines that he's collected, with the objective being to get rid of the crap.  I'm all for encouraging this phase.  Getting through all the stuff stored in the basement brings us one step closer

I'm really sorry about your homesickness and missing your mum. It is so hard to lose loved ones, even years later. I still miss my father, and it has been 18 years since he passed. I'm glad you get to go home in a few weeks. It'll be good for you.

Thanks D. It's strange -- I need a trip regularly to look forward to (it keeps me grounded), but the increase in the homesickness leading up to me leaving gets harder every year. Guess that's a sign of where my heart is.

I'm glad you're relatively close to a trip home...I remember what it was like when I was in DC, and that was just 3000 mi away.

Enjoy American Idol! I know you will have feline supervision so will be fine, even if N isn't there.

The kitties supervise well. Especially from the couch (Soph) and the top of the TV cabinet (Kiwi).

Tomorrow night! :D Although I don't think Ellen makes her first appearance until the first week the contestants are in Hollywood. Auditions first!!

I'm looking forward to Ellen too. Can't say I'll really miss Paula. Although I'm still not sold on Kara.

The big buzz this week is the news that Simon's leaving. That might be the end for a lot of people.
