I don't mind your blind. My sister has autism and my whole family has special needs in some way. I actually live on the Quileute reservation. My family rents a little house from a tribal member. that is why I still live with my parents because I want ot continue living on the reservation but I am non native so I can't rent a home directly from the tribe. The community loves me and so does Tribal Council (the ruling body of the Tribe) and that is all that matters to me. When I need time alone from my 6 and 7 year old Quileute foster boys, I just take my car to the beach.

How is it that your parents can live on the reservation but you couldn't?
When I was in high school at the school for the blind we did a letter and visit exchange with the school on the reservation. My memories from the trip up there are some of my best from hs.

My whole family is non native. As I say, "We are as white as the walls." The tribe does a rent to own program for the tribal members. The house we live in is owned by a tribal member and not by the tribe. Since she now lives in another city she rents the home to us. I would have to find a similar situation to live on the reservation. We are surrounded by a national park so there are no homes right next to the reservation. I could rent a house if I found one that someone would be willing to rent, or if I find a roommate where the home was in their name. I just have to wait for the right opportunity.
