Thought I'd give this a shot.
a. Post a list of fifteen fandoms.
b. Have your friends list guess your favourite character from each one.
c. When guessed, bold the line, include the character name, and write a sentence about why you like that character.
Chronicles of Narnia
Shoujo Kakumei Utena: Anthy
I just think she's so well-crafted and intricately layered -- really cleverly drawn. She's an enigma in an enigma in an enigma. Plus one of the most compelling fictional characters, period. Her complexity puts others in the cast to shame, and that's really saying something, considering the series' cast. I love how that whenever you peel back layers from her personality, there are always more and more to be unraveled.
And she's just creepy enough to be cool.
Digimon [01 and 02]
Motomiya Daisuke
Not guessed by anyone, but nevertheless! He's funny, genuinely sincere despite his bravado, has one of the best names ever (try saying Motomiya Daisuke five times fast; you'll see what I mean)...what's not to love? And his image songs rock: both Goggle Boy and Reach for You are absolutely tops. Also, a bit of an underdog despite being the main character -- which endears him to me a lot more than, say, Taichi. Nothing against the latter, but Daisuke has better development, I think.
Harry Potter
Clover: Ran.
His sad little line about how no lights will ever shine for his sake, despite there being so many of them, is my favorite comment in the series. I honestly thought he was a flat character until volume four -- wow, what a turnaround. His character is suffused with this sad, sweet vulnerability. Granted, so are Suu's and Oruha's, but Ran's graceful melancholy stands out: it's what I think of first when someone mentions the series. Plus Chara's Miruku is jointly tangled up in my opinion of him.
TB/X: Hokuto
Reeeally close call. I love all of the TB trio, but Hokuto is so vibrantly alive and so *human*. Despite her awareness of Tokyo's corruption, she still tries to live as though surrounded by beauty. Hard to say, but I think her death was what made me saddest out of everything in the manga. She embodied so much: her absence spoke volumes; more than the fate of any one character. In the last tankoubon, her jacket draped over in place of where she'd normally be was a fantastically sad touch.
I just read over my description of Minako, and realized that a lot of things I wrote about her could also apply to Hokuto. Aside from the misquoting of idioms, and that Sailormoon is much more optimistic that Tokyo Babylon -- which is strange. I'd never think to compare the two otherwise.
Fruits Basket
Two Worlds and In Between (HP
fic that I'm not sure anyone I know has read besides
weekend)

b>Sailormoon: Minako.
Minako is very passionate, very tragic, very energetic. To me, she's one of the most detailed characters, while still being humorous. She's the most entertaining to watch, IMHO. I also like her constant misquoting of idioms. *g* On a tangent, she's not the sort of person I would like in real life -- although I love energy and enthusiasm and humor, vain people irk me. Well, I suppose she's not vain so much as melodramatic, and I have a few tendencies myself...never mind, we'd probably get along.
Paradise Kiss
Nana
misc CLAMPstuff [RG Veda, CCS, etc inclusive]
CCS: Eriol.
Who else would think up attacks with giant tap-dancing pianos? If I remember correctly, the pianos may not actually have tap-danced. But it's exactly the kind of thing he'd do.
Mwah, the '^_^.' emoticon might well have been solely invented for his usage. It's his weird sense of humor too: how can you not like a character who has so much fun plotting his [not so] evil schemes? Pint-sized magicians of the world, unite!
Good Omens
Can't think of other series at the moment, but anything in my interests is fair game. Some of the ones already listed here have more than one possible favorite.
Edit: I'm filling in the blank spaces to right guesses as the thought strikes me -- ie pretty haphazardly.
Ask away!
Nothing against the other meme that's going around, but this one's more my style. ^^.
