Looking at Phthonos, "What took you so long? I have been waiting since Eos came to light. I left Love still slumbering."

He faltered a minute, before smiling softly, "Nike wanted me to accompany her and father. They are fighting again...My father and Mother. Nike thinks she can fix is, because she never loses."

"You could rest, could you not? Tell Nike and your siblings that you needed to get away?"
Softer still, "We could leave, just for a while. Away from everything. It would only be us."

Voice softer as he squeezed Zelos' hand, still within his own grasp. "And you, all to myself. Can you fault me on that?" He reached out, fingers tracing the curve of Zelos' lips, wanting the lovely smile back. "Perhaps you will notice only me and no other unfortunate."
"Where to go? Where to go?" He thought on it and closed his eyes and soon they stood in the center of a lush jungle, the exotic plants surrounding them filling his senses till he was heady with it. He turned his head and through the break in the trees was a waterfall.
Speechless, he heard a rustle behind them and he saw something moving through the leaves. "Oh," he breathed out.

"It's beautiful," he breathed, turning to sight of the stripped creature hidden in the trees.
He stared at it for a long time, his toga shifting about his body as he moved toward it. "What is it?"

"Phthonos!" he hissed. "What are you doing? Return to my side now!" It did not matter if they were gods, Prometheus' doing would have ensured that the animal would be able to protect itself well enough.

Himeros leaned down to press a kiss on the furred snout, smiling when the animal licked its lips afterwards and looked at him placidly. "It was a privilege to meet you, splendid one."
He watched as the animal roared once and turned around to trot off back into the foliage it had come from. Behind him, he could almost feel Zelos' anger.

"Why can't I teach it to fight with me? What do you know of fighting anyway?"

Why would Himeros thing otherwise of him? Free, Zelos was forever free.

Relishing the feel of arms around him, "But I do not lie when I say that hearing you say all these makes me happy. They are words and I know there is truth in them but just hearing them... It makes me happy."

For some reason he worried, he worried that he couldn't match Himeros' love no matter how he tried to emmulate it, no matter how zealous he was in his love.

"Not once," he breathed out after pulling away. "Love can wound, it can break someone, but it can also heal and bring you to heights you never thought possible. I am willing to feel all Her glory, all Her pain. But I will never regret loving you. No matter what."
