I need to just stop mentioning my extended absences altogether, heh...  To anyone on my friendslist, though, I am sorry for not keeping up with your stories and the like.  Although it probably doesn't even matter much at this point...  Heh, whoops~

Oooh, I like this. Very good characterizations and atmosphere, and a surprisingly nuanced conversation about a little spider.
Lovely.

Poor spider! I was dreading its fate the whole time Ukoku held it... -___-'' Thank goodness for Koumyou.

The characterization is so good, especially between two such inscrutables! I am impressed. Their conversation is really well arranged; it nicely conveys how and why these two get along while still having such divergent interests and goals.

Thank you! I'm glad you thought the characterization was good; I was a bit worried since those two really are so inscrutable. I don't feel like I know them nearly as well as the ikkou. So it's a relief that you thought they came out ok.

Thanks a ton for taking the time to read and comment!

Great read, I love the back and forth between Koumyou and Ukoku. {{hugs the poor, traumitized spider}}

Your characterization is perfect in this.

I'd think these two would be really hard to write, with how complex they are and how much goes on under the surface, but you've done it masterfully.

You also did a great job describing the setting: lovely details like Koumyou's hair sticking a bit to his skin; Ukoku's lenses being steamed up; the pitcher of water instead of alcohol.

I was so nervous the entire time Ukoku was torturing the spider. I was hoping Koumyou would step in and save it!

This scenario and their actions and dialogue say so much about their different views of life.

“When he’s dried off, perhaps he’ll be a bit cute.”

^ This made me grin a big grin.

Great fic!

Thank you very much. I'm glad the characterization seemed good to you. I was really worried about getting them right for the exact reasons that you described (and they're such good characters, so I didn't want to butcher them, heh). And I'm glad you thought the dialogue worked. Thanks again for taking the time to read and comment!
