Also I can't recommend Mel Bartholomew's book Square Foot Gardening enough!

It's amazing what a person can grow in a sq. foot area...
His methods for sq foot gardening also works for container gardening..
I have pic's up on my LJ on what I have done so far...

Mmm Looks like a lot of posiblities, sadily without a lot of top soil your limited on your plant selection. I have found the best way to find a lands history is to go to the local court house. They should have all the records you need as well as your soil type and other useful info

Your house is tooo cute! I have been trying Mr. Dave to let me dig up ALL lawn at least in the front. Would make his job easier after all. Why is useless green turf that you really can't eat (you could-but ewww) have to mow, that people water (I refuse) so frackin popular? It's not pretty, it has no blooms. Failing to see the love.
