I have grown to love smart playlists, you can create a black list and a white list then use them to filter out stuff from other playlists. I also use folders to organize my playlists so I only have to make one check and I get them all.

No, not the best solution but still better than managing manually.

Agreeing with the frustration

I agree with the usablity frustration of the music options. I use mine for multiple purposes now days and as much as I have play lists there are some times were I want only particular music or music styles for whatever reasons and when you have a rather large library individualy clicking on songs or even artist libraries can be time consuming.
