The sun is shining down on the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and spring is truly right around the corner, but spring break, along with Easter 2005, is over. I’m back in Grainger’s lovely computer lab among my wonderful business school acquaintances ( Read more... )

I'm glad that you at least know whom I was rooting for unlike my freakin' sister who had the gall to ask me later.

Idk about this so-called unwritten rule that you ought to be loyal to the school that you attended...maybe there is something to that if I wanted to be some type of blind follower. But then again shouldn't there be something about loyalty to whom you've followed since you were 10? Seven years before you even sent back that "YES!" envelope to whatever college you finally settled for. Don't you think that overrules the whole follow whichever school you attended? Becuz I think for me to have changed course and become a Badger fan would speak volumes- and I couldn't claim to be a loyal person becuz to have done that would display how loyalty actually means shit to me. Call me loyal/disloyal/whatever but I believe staying true to the same team for 13 years trumps the 4 yrs I spent on in-state tuition. Just my opinion.

okay I misused the term "blind follower" earlier. I just didn't feel like I should be all RAH RAH whomever becuz of its close proximity to me. for instance, I wouldn't root for nor defend Landon just cuz he's from River Falls slash Madison ( ... )

But I am not saying that you ought to root for the team because of it's close proximity. Its the team that you belonged to the same community to, like being a college student or college grad. As for the Bucks vs. Pacers, well of course I am going to go with the pacers cause I followed them for a long long time, but I never attended the same school as all the Bucks or was in the same community of the Bucks. The connection I was referring to goes well beyond distance. ha, the one thing I really liked about the pacers was the fact that they were the same team for so long.... not so much anymore, that turns me off a bit. Did you know Reggie is going to retire after this year. He's already 40... my goodness ( ... )
