Good to be Home...

So, both of my kids have been sick off and on for the past three weeks. This past Monday, they took a turn for the worse, and were vomiting a lot. So we took a trip in to the ER for IV therapy. They seemed to respond very well to the anti-nausea medicine they were given, so we were given a scrip for each of them and sent home. I was ok with it, ( Read more... )

Wow, that is scary, do they know what caused it? so far we've been pretty lucky with illness, but we also spend most of our time in our townhome.

They said the test came back positive for rotavirus. It's a virus that lives in the intestines, and the body's primary way of getting rid of it is... you guessed it! Diarrhea. >.<

According to what I've been reading, most kids have gotten it at least once by the time they're five, and each subsequent infection is less severe. So, hopefully, we won't have to do this one again!

Ohhh I've heard of Rotavirus, she's been getting vaccinated against it in the hopes that if she gets it, it won't be so severe. I hear it is very easy to get in the under 5 set and very common.

Holy crap D: Btw, you're not the only one, but lj took a few people off my friends group filter. I have two filters: communities and friends. You were supposed to be in the latter one... But it's fixed now!
