[Work in Progress] Icon meme

Finally getting around to an icon meme for Mytho, because I am really dependent on his icons in conversations and I like rambling whut.

: Je vois ce malheureux mythe étrange et fatal.
Or "I see this hapless creature, sad and fatal myth," from "The Swan" by Baudelaire, the poem I got his username from. As his default, this is Mytho sort of how you see him and how he's supposed to be. A little blurry and unreal, with a neutral soft expression.

Actual expressions (yes, he's making that face in this icon):

If there is a chance of ressurecting a love, I'm not above going back to the start to find out where the heartache began "Because I am an innocent man" from Billy Joel, er, Movin' Out. One of his defaults when he's being talked at and he is just taking it like a good puppet. This also the icon response when people get upset with him and he emotionally shuts down.

"Man of La Mancha." So where the "Because I am an innocent man" icon is Mytho-as-Mytho, this one is more Mytho-as-prince. He's probably a little more distant or he is talking about duty and responsibility. If someone gets this icon in the middle of a serious/emoting thread it means he's seperating his emotions with what he assumes should be done because the story made him that way. Also he would tilt at windmills, yes.

"A Perfect Double Act" from Chicago. Mytho is unintentionally wandering into some act or standing in the wings of whatever is going on. Possible talking about dance. It's also often used in the capacity of "...whoops, shouldn't have seen that."

"World is a big scary place" from Avenue Q. Because CFUD to someone who only knew storybook worlds is like the real world to an English major who only knows about literature. They are completely comparable. Mostly this is a neutral, tuning in icon to wtf is going on.

The future wasn't bright but "Tame is gone the show goes on" from Singing in the Rain. Patiently listening to what's being said, mostly about topics like 'hey your life sucks change it' 'I'm trying >:' and other difficulties where Mytho's actual expression is pretty passive even if he's thinking about enduring/forging through.

Curious/Questioning:

These tender hearts of ours "May be endlessly naive" from the Scarlet Pimpernel. Basically Mytho, being kind of heartless, is asking a dur question about life, the universe and feeeeeeeeeelings~. The woobie face will make it less awkward, I assure you.

I've got a theory... "It could be bunnies" from the Buffy musical ('sup Anya). Mytho is listening docilely while you ENABLE HIM TO DO SOMETHING HORRIBLE. Or he is eating, which happens too.

"Through your eyes I see clearer" from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers ("I'm Glad That You Were Born"). Mytho is being obedient to what you are saying/asking of him. He's probably looking at what was said in a favorable light if you suggested something and you might actually be making him less emo.

"Stone the crows" from Joseph's Amazing Technicolor Coat. Mytho is curious but it's usually for little children/animals/helpless people, so there's an assumption he is more likely to try and do something.

"Where is my storybook ending?" from the Scarlet Pimpernel. I always feel like I should have used a more dramatic icon for this because the song "Storybook" is rly good (and to go with Tutu's "Come be the love I can hold now" icon) but this is from the scene where little!Fakir is asking Mytho about his story. And this is normally used for an exposition/question about the nature of stories/telling fairytales/themes in a general way.

"I would like to understand" but the stars and I begin to blur from the Scarlet Pimpernel ("She Was There"). Mytho is trying very hard to grasp concepts that he would never know being from a storybook and all that fun destiny/fate talk. He's probably disheartened from not getting it because it just doesn't work that way for him.

Lolz symbolism:

"Little bird oh have pity on me" from The Man of La Mancha. Mytho is referring to/talking about fragile, helpless things. There's probably something approaching tenderness in his conduct and this is his nobleist here. Ignore that the song is ironically applied in the second verse or take it as some kind of freaky parallel with season two Mytho...

"Hide all the world from me"--bar all the windows and shut out the light. Do what you want with me... from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The subject is referring to his years of heartlessness, where he did whatever was asked of him and how sheltered he was. Usually using this in a self-examining manner, or considering how other people deal with free will. Also used to answer, yes, Fakir totally badtouched me like that iyan~

You always have my unspoken passion "Although I might not seem to care" from Billy Joel ("Just the Way You Are"). Mytho, for all his emotional retardness, understands something is amiss and is going to stare and look for where the hurt is coming from. This is normally prompting an explanation for why someone is being 'no really I'm fine *hidden emo*' in front of him. This is also another one of those icons where the subject of his main motivation being helping/protecting people comes up.

"Image of what once was" ...lol he's emoing because he's not the prince he used to be. Or he's doing something that's a pale shadow of what he wants to do.

"Stepping on the air so blindly" I trust you will be there to find me from the Scarlet Pimpernel ("Believe"). Also known as the "Mytho's about to do something foolhardy and self-sacrificing! 8D" icon. He also could be looking up at something/someone with a little trepidation but...he'll probably still be doing something dumb three comments after it. It's been used infrequently to refer to his searching for Tutu as well.

"Storybook Prince." Because no matter what he is talking about, no matter how random or innocuous it is, chances are Drosselmyer had some hand in fucking him up about it. This is also a subtle "lol meta" icon. Which I only abuse a little honest.

Keeping it in the story (oh canonmate dependency):

And we all have so many faces the real self often erases "Enticing lies flicker through our eyes" from the Scarlet Pimpernel ("The Riddle"). Rue is being a horrible, terrible influence when he's talking. Or, if the conversation is related to big emo spoilers, Mytho is questioning his own motives because his heart is corrupt.

If allies are strong with power to protect me, might they "Protect me out of all I own"? from the King and I. Mytho is talking to Rue/referring to Rue with the assumption of her possessiveness and general unhealthy dysfunction as an undercurrent. Also whenever Rue is in a position of power/badtouching.

"Two in the garden" ...fast asleep from Peter Pan ("The Good Shepherd"). Mytho talking to/about Rue in a calm moment. Mytho taking the role of being somewhat comforting and in the position of appeasing her like a good prince. Goes with the "Floating in the summer sky" icon Rue uses T^Tb.

"As waves lean on the sea" my love come lean on me from the Scarlet Pimpernel ("Believe"). Okay, that sounds a little gay but the line works. Mytho is talking to/about Fakir as a protector. He's probably being self-effacing and mentioning how Fakir is the one who took care of him and he was/is weak. Also used when he's physically exhausted and leaning on Fakir or someone else in rare occasions.

"You've got to be carefully taught" from South Pacific. The obligatory "Listen to me and only me" scene reference. Mytho is obeying out of habit for Fakir, or he's listening because he's afraid/unsure. This is also an icon for the general "Fakir gave me my name/a home/lived with me for years" use. And, yes, used to denote excessive male touching in those threads.

Really, this just proves how much I gutted the Scarlet Pimpernel...
