[RL with Lloyd - Meeting At The Base]

Kratos was waiting outside the Renegade Base in the Triet Desert, scanning the area for any sign of his son's arrival. He had had to be careful not to worry Jacky, and to make sure she wouldn't accidently overhear anything that was said. He knew how much she hated it when he disappeared without saying anything, and so he had merely told her he was

Lloyd landed his rheaird in the desert just outside the base. He'd left a note for Colette in case she missed him before he got back. Walking up to the front gate, he wondered what Kratos could want to talk with him about. He'd sounded pretty serious in his journal.

It was impossible to miss Lloyd as he approached the Base. Before approaching his son, Kratos took a moment to listen out for any potential spies. He was satisfied that nobody had followed him outside, most of all Jacky, and hesitantly made his way over to the boy.

"It is good to see you again..." he said by way of greeting. They hadn't had much of an opportunity to meet face to face like this recently. The last time they had been anywhere near each other was during the battle at Meltokio where neither of them could afford to take part in idle conversation. Not that this was an idle conversation... rather, a very important one. Still, standing in front of Lloyd like this just made the situation seem much more awkward.

"Yeah, you too," Lloyd answered. They'd both been pretty busy with the aftermath of Yggdrasil's reappearance. Even with him seemingly gone again, the event had made his exsphere recovery journey even more difficult. When armies could descend on Tethe'alla's largest city, people weren't so willing to let go of the things that could make them stronger.

The atmosphere was making Lloyd worry, though. Kratos managed to look even more stern than normal, so it was obvious something big was bothering him. "So what did you want to talk about?"

There was an awkward silence between them as Kratos searched for a good place to begin. Mentioning the person in question seemed to be as good a place as any. He sighed deeply, not quite sure how this conversation would turn out, but it was something that had to be done. He couldn't exclude Lloyd from this... he wouldn't.

"You are aware that I am in a relationship with Jacky... I know how much this has confused you and I want you to know that I have taken everything into consideration before deciding this... That is why I must speak with you. I need to know how it would affect you if I went ahead with it..."
