Wow, that was really good.

I like that can't believe that she loves him and so blames it on delirium.

I like that he spills his guts out even when she's already "asleep" because he can't just not tell her if that's the end.

And I like that delirium induce thought at the end that if he just shut his eyes then maybe they'll be okay.

So sad.

Thanks! Like I said, I've been thinking about re-interpreting the "one and done" thing for Castle... even though he's been married before I don't think he's really felt that way about anyone before Kate. :-)

I think he might have come close with Kyra, his first love, but he was burned by her and after that never wanted to get too close to anyone, so kept on choosing women who were more superficial and that he didn't really feel anything very deeply for. Maybe that's why he's really taken his time to realize these feelings for Beckett. I just hope Beckett realizes *hers* soon!

This is such a good analysis of the situation and I think you're spot on! Never thought of it that way before, but I think you're right - his ex-wives never really had the power to break his heart but Kyra did and Beckett does and I think that's why he's been so cautious - yay for him finally admitting his feelings in the season finale!!;-D
