Pokémon/Digimon meme challenge thing
This is one of these 30 Days things, but I'd rather not spam any of my blogs with a mome over the course of 30 days when I can do it all at once and save us all the trouble. ^^x
Day 01: Your Pokemon dream-team?
Worst question right at the beginning! I always have trouble picking six - just SIX - Pokémon for a team. Especially since several reasons for chosing a pokémon are having an outright WAR inside me. There's the strategist, who wants a balanced team full of strong pokémon, there's the nostalgic trainer who wants all her long tiem favorites that have been on my teams so far, and there's the omg that's like so cute part of me that I can never quite shut up, not to mention the little voice that sees a pokémon's "real life" practability.
1 - Blaziken: At least one choice is easy.
2 - Kingdra: Love it a lot, but the "real life" surfing would be difficult.
3 - Garchomp: My unexpected favorite from the 4th generation.
4 - Sawsbuck: You have no idea how much I grew to love it.
5 - Luxray: My not so unexpected favorite from the 4th generation. XD
6 - Braviary: See Sawbuck; these two are probably my favorite 5th gen pokémon period.
This team is prone to change at a moment's notice. But these are definitely six pokémon that I love combined in a team that is somewhat balanced, by which I mean I could probably beat any of the games with this line up.
Day 02: Which Digimon would you like to have for your own?
Well~ my favorite Digimon would have to be Renamon, and I can't say I'd mind having it for my partner. But I wouldn't be opposed to Garurumon either. XD (To be quite honest though, if I were to have a digimon of my own, I wouldn't want it to be any of the DigiDestined's. Something fluffy to ride on would be nice. And call me a Sue, but I always had a thing for angel digimon. ^^;;;
Day 03: Pokemon -Favorite Movie?
Mewtwo's and Lucario's. Don't make me chose between the two.
I loved Mewtwo, his creation, enslavement and liberation, as well as his striving for understanding people and pokémon and what makes them what they are. Lucario was beautifully tragic. His loyalty for his trainer and his choice in the end endeared him to me. Plus, he's probably the most frequently raped loved Pokémon ever. XD
Day 04: Digimon -Favorite Female Character?
Rika! ^___^x Wow, that was easy. I liked her from the beginning (I have a thing for tomboy-ish characters), the way she'd take no shit from anyone, how she wanted a strong digimon that was worthy of her skills... everything.
Day 05: Pokemon -Favorite video-game?
Pretty much all of the main DS games, especially Platinum and White, but Ranger 3 was cool, too.
Day 06: Digimon -Favorite Male Character?
Ishida Yamata, aka Matt. Shortly before the series started on German TV I picked up a magazine that introduced the main characters, and I fell in love with Matt at that precise moment. I was not disappointed. I liked him better in season 1 than in season 2, but I still liked him a lot. He's certainly the kin dof character that appeals to me, especially to 14-year-old me. Not to mention the fact that he's gorgeous. You know, for an 11-year-old. ^^;;
Day 07: Pokemon -Favorite Quote?
Quite a few things from Mewtwo's movie, I think, what he said about life, and what others said concerning the way pokémon should fight.
Day 08: Digimon -Favorite shipping?
Taito and Yamachi respectively (it's really one and the same to me, I don't have a preference). The first fanfic I ever read was a Taito story, and that might have been a long time ago, but the pairing will always have a special place in my fangirl heart.
Day 09: Favorite Pokeball?
Quick Ball (works best at the beginning of a fight) and Dusk Ball (works best at night and in dark places). The Dusk Ball is a great choice because many legendary pokémon (the ones that are traditionally gardest to chatch) are in caves where it's dark. Plus, I usually play in the evenings or at night, so the ball is a natural choice. The Quick Ball is my favorite ever since I caught Dialga with one. It's the most boring and anti-climatic wa yto catch something, but my practical thinking clearly trumps my sense for drama while playing Pokémon. I always throw a Quick Ball first before trying anything else.
Day 10: Favorite Crest?
My first instinct is to say Friendship, obviously because it's Matt's crest. That's not what this choice should be about. Buuut, even after some consideration and possibly interest in Knowledge and Courage I'm still with Friendship. They're all good qualities, obviously, that's why they can make a digimon digivolve, but still, Friendship it is. It seems to be at the core of many of the other crests, when you think about it.
Day 11: Pokemon -Favorite Manga Character?
Red! ♥ (Runner-ups: Green, Giovanni, Koga) He's the most adorable thing in the world! Red isn't anything like Ash, or even like the trainer Red from the games. He's kind, passionate and clever, and he grows quite a bit during the series. I pair him with Giovanni (and Green, which goes without saying).
Day 12: What do you think of Xros Wars?
Haven't seen it yet, but the opening didn't look all that amazing. *shrugs*
Day 13: What do you think of Black and White/Best Wishes?
It looked okay. I've seen a few episodes that I liked well enough, but I'm no fan of the TV show, haven't been for many seasons. I don't like shrubbery-for-hair-girl, but other than that (and the fact that Pikachu gets defeated by a level 5 starter Pokémon) it seams okay.
Day 14: Digimon -Most Attractive Boy?
Gonna have to stay with Matt, but Ken is rather pretty, too~
Day 15: Pokemon -Most Attractive Boy?
Hmmm... manga!Green, maybe? I'm not gonna make this a definite answer because I'm too lazy to go through all the characters. XD;;
Day 16: Digimon -Favorite Friendship?
Tai and Matt, though as a slasher I'd argue it develops into something more sexual. ^^x
Day 17: Favorite Contest outfit?
I don't like contests. I don't watch them. The idea of looking particularly pretty for these contests seems ridiculous and downright stupid to me. *rolls eyes* Coordinators are wimp trainers. XP
As for the question: I obviously don't know any contest outfits.
Day 18: Digimon -Favorite Siblings?
Matt and TK, especially once TK begins to grow and Matt has to accept that his brother won't always need his protection (but will still want him in his life).
Day 19: Favorite Eevee-evolution?
Umbreon. YES it sucks in battles, SCREW LOGIC I still love it! Ù^Úx
Day 20: Digimon -Least favorite season?
Digimon Savers (or Data Squad). Watched a few episodes, hated it, never looked at it again. I didn't like the main character or the character design.
Day 21: Pokemon -Favorite Friendship
Ash and Gary. They started out as rivals, with Gary being an arrogant jerk and Ash not acting to mature either, but ended up with mutual respect as they grew up.
Day 22: Digimon -What should have happened, but didn’t?
Season 2: The old DigiDestined should have DONE SOMETHING. At some point Digivolving with the help of Armor Eggs became possible again, but they just kept watching the younger kids do all the work. Because what, they were busy with middle school? Right. I would have like dto see more of them (and less of Yolei and Cody).
Day 23: Pokemon -Favorite Evil organization?
Team Rocket... simple goals, much potential for alternate interpretations. Team Aqua and Magma were just plain boring (an agressive kind of Green Peace), Team Galactic was too what-the-fuck-Cyrus-no-one-gets-your-plans and Team Plasma was too not-evil to take them seriously as an evil organization. ^^x
Day 24: Digimon -Favorite Villian?
Myotismon, possibly Devimon, and maybe Piedmon.
I liked the story around Myotismon, with Gatomon finally becoming a partner Digimon, Wizardmon's sacrifice, the search for the 8th DigiDestined, all that. =) But Devimon was the first enemy the children had to face, and Angemon's sacrifice was so sweet and sad at the same time and had an impact on TK none of the children realized at the time. With Piedmon it's as much his power as his design that makes me like him.
Bottom line: I have a thing for humanoid digimon. XD
Day 25: Pokemon -Favorite shipping?
Giovanni/Red and Koga/Green in the Special manga.
Day 26: Digimon -Favorite Quote?
Geez, it's been forever since I saw Digimon...
But I remember being deeply touched at some points.
When Angemon "died" after defeating Devimon. When Matt first activated his crest of friendship. When the first DigiDestined had to say good bye to their partners (in season 3, too). When hundreds of children returned to the digital world at the end of season 2 (that song). I can't "quote" them in a sentence or two, but I do remember them.
Day 27: Pokemon -Favorite Female Character?
Can't think of one right now. But I distinctly dislike May and Dawn. -__-x
Day 28: Favorite Goggle-head?
Tai. But Daisuke was sweet, too.
Yeah, I have a thing for the fist two seasons. ^^;;
Day 29: Pokemon -Favorite Male Character?
Anime: Gary.
Manga: Red.
Games: N. (Also Cyrus.)
Day 30: Digimon -Favorite Movie?
The second movie: Our War Game. Lots of Tai/Matt moments. XD
