A nice moment for putting Vic on the world map:
http://www.canada.com/victoriatimescolonist/news/story.html?id=323048f8-773e-4d7e-873e-2aa92d1e3fe1It does annoy me that this article was modifed from yesterday to not mention that the one team was based in Saanich (Victoria, BC, Canada) to just mentioning the team name..NRC Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics.. (I read it first last night before bed and went back to find the article today and noticed the change :p )
EDIT at 11pm: WTF! THE SEATTLE TIMES (AP writer) HAS REMOVED ALL REFERENCE TO VIC BC and Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics/Christian Marois and chose to focus on Macintosh as leader of one team! I wish I'd screen capped... >:/ :p (Hokay!) Turf warz.. it was a team find! ;)

"The headquarters of the NRC Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics is located on the site of this historic observatory." ie: the observatory on location wasn't used for this finding.. but the team IS based at the observatory...

"One of the teams, led by Christian Marois of the Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics in Victoria, Canada, used the Gemini North and Keck 2 telescopes atop Hawaii’s Mauna Kea to image the region around a massive star called HR 8799." Ahh ok..
