We are having our first heat wave of the summer here (ugh), so hot tea is less appealing in the afternoon. But it's still cool enough this morning (with my fan going!) that I am enjoying a nice cup of hot English Breakfast tea. (This tea comes in delightfully dorky tins; English Breakfast is in the middle of that photo.)
For my birthday last year, my mum got me a subscription to Teatime Magazine and it is a delight! It's published every other month and features ideas for themed tea parties (with scrumptious treats & suggested tea pairings), profiles of teashop/tearoom owners, profiles of tea producers (like Harney & Sons, etc.), and all kinds of other bits and bobs. Highly recommended for any tea lovers! :D
FANDOM TEAS!! I haven't actually tried any yet, but some of them sound delicious and look at the ADORABLE labels Cara created for them!! I will totally be ordering some soon, but I am having a hard time deciding WHICH since I cannot afford them ALL (nor do I have enough room in my tea cupboard). Definitely the Reichenbach Recovery, though, because yes, still in recovery from that. ;_;

Cooooookies! Yes, cookies definitely go with tea! :D Those sound delicious! I need to make some cookies for people at work; I should make them before it gets too hot later. Or maybe in the evening. We'll see!

I mentioned the whole magazine in the tea thread above, but the "Indulgences" section of Teatime Magazine deserves its own mention. I want to try nearly every recipe (or adapt those with ingredients that are not my favorites)! I made chocolate orange cookies (though mine were not starfish-shaped) to bring to work a while ago and they were a big hit. :)
My latest Sherlock squee is this fitness challenge some fans put together on a social fitness site called Fitocracy. I had just been starting to get serious about fitness again shortly before they started this. It's really great -- fans getting fit together = fun AND healthy! And you get stupid points and badges and stuff along the way and it's totally addictive.
We're having our first heat wave here now, but this group is actually helping to keep me motivated! I have no hope of winning the challenge, but just being part of a group of friendly geeks like me who are also trying to get fit is really nice. :D (I'm winkingstar there, too, in case any of you decide to join.)
There's a fun viral marketing campaign going on that asks about favorite places you've been and such. It's for something called Wander, but no one actually knows what it is/will be once it's unveiled. So for now, it's just fun to participate in their "wander weeks" and see all the love for so many different places.
I'm so looking forward to returning to Oxford this summer (love your icon) and we've planned some side trips to Cambridge and the Brecon Beacons in Wales. Someday before we're too old we'd like to do a bike tour through the Loire Valley, and ever since I watched a particular episode of Rick Steves I've been longing to see Slovenia!
