what the FUCK?
just lie and say you go to york or ryerson or toronto.
and if you can't get a job still, I'm blown away because in a few weeks, you'll have the hordes of high school kids looking for jobs as well. =( I just started my job 2 weeks ago and they didn't care whether I was in university or not. Everyone who's working there is either in school, just out of school, in between schools or something like that.

have you tried looking for some NGO positions on charityvillage.com? If you want to do some meaningful stuff over the summer, they're always looking and actually uni students form the bulk of the temp workforce.

if you can't get greenpeace, perhaps you'd like to look into overseas humanitarian effort things like habitat for humanity, or other stuff that include building schools, basic everyday utilities like water pumps to get clean water and whatnot.
Lots of good opportunities and if you look hard enough, you'll find something you really enjoy. Probably more than selling makeup to people or retail salesperson or some kind of clerk.
