((OOC: Assuming that Erik's still in the hospital wing.)
Erik,
Yes, we should make it a point to talk more it's been awhile.
Classes are...the usual, I suppose. Great in Potions, horrible in Herbology. Muggle Studies was interesting. I'm the only 3rd year at the moment. Professor Dalina's really nice though. We might be talking about the Pureblood/Muggleborn issue eventually. Which will be of interest to me, obviously, and you...and all the other Muggleborns at Hogwarts. Maybe I'll take notes for you. :-P
Ophelia caused some problems in DADA, but nothing I couldn't handle. I managed to vanish a snake she conjured. Impressed?
Again, I bow to the greatness that wrote the Ballard the Mallard song. I'll come by the hospital wing to hear you sing it. And to see how you're doing, of course. It's a good thing you don't play Quidditch. If Juhi had broken a Gryffindor Quidditch player's hand, there would have been trouble. :-)
Written on a piece of yellowish parchment that has torn edges and various scribblings around the corners (such as "-sbane" and "-oar," among others) which seem to be bits of words, and are actually Winnie's Potions notes. Sent by a small, black, surly-looking owl with one eye.
Dear Maddie,
I never mind getting an owl. It's my preferred way of communication, which makes summers difficult because Mum and Dad are still "thinking about" letting me get one of my own. I do like the cute ones, like the one who sent yours. They used to be my favourite kinds until I saw this one lurking about the owlery in the middle of my first year. I asked around and apparently I'm the only person he's let come within three feet of him in several years. I think he likes me because I call him "Severus." :-P

See you soon,
