:( I wish life always brought us what we wanted. Are you intending to move down to SC after the semester is over? That's why I was asking if you were going to apply to Cabrillo. You should be able to still get financial aid there, so that might help you a bit, especially if you need $$ to last a while before you get a job. But you can always come visit beforehand and job hunt.

OH MY GOD. YES. my plan is to move down there in january. the only problem is the living situation thing. I have to figure out how to coordinate moving out of my current place and into one down there. I don't know how I will afford rent either, which has been making me nervous. I will surely figure it out, though, because I MUST.

you should be able to stay with me for a bit to find a job and a place. have you talked with kelsea -- do you have anyone in mind who could move into that apartment with her? or will she not stay there?

I haven't really talked to her about it in a while, but I think she wants to come with me. I'm just worried that she won't want to go down there so soon, but I'm pretty convinced that I need to go as soon as possible.

I would say start looking for a job down here now. It takes a while to get hired and you could probably get a day or two off if you had to to come down here and interview.

All of these chain retailers are hiring: http://abc7news.typepad.com/finneyblog/2009/10/looking-for-work-employers-are-looking-for-you-.html

But beyond that, go on Yelp or search the yellow pages for types of places you'd like to work and start calling around. And look at Indeed.com for jobs in the Santa Cruz area and Craigslist.org, too.

And apply to Cabrillo if you haven't already and intend to go there. More people are going to school now and you might not be able to apply at the last minute, especially if you want to take certain classes.

Can't wait to see you more often -- and see you exploring and stretching yourself!

I will definitely check out those sites for jobs. thank you!

I can't wait to expand and see new things and get to know myself better outside of my comfort zone. I'm literally going insane here. I'm nervous about coming down south while I'm still having so many money issues, but if not now, then I don't think I will ever get out of here for one reason or another.
