For my birthday last week, I received two gift cards: a $100 one for Amazon, and a $50 generic Visa (an aside - I was at the grocery store a few months ago, buying an Amazon gift card, and the checker had never heard of Amazon. Catherine's school has an opening for a part-time Marketing & Communications Manager. That would be a perfect thing for me. I'd be at the school, I'd be part-time (therefore, able to pick her up when she's done), and able to do to school myself. Needless to say, I applied!

Catherine had her first full day of school yesterday (last week was all half days). When she got into the car and retrieved her bunny, her comment was, "I didn't like nap time. I missed my bunny." By the end of the night (and into this morning), she cried when she thought about it ( Read more... )

So, according to the Welcome note Catherine's teacher sent home with her today, she had a terrific first week of school. She likes it, so far. But next week starts full days (today was just half), and she doesn't quite know what she thinks of that.

Can you believe that tiny baby Catherine is starting school tomorrow?

Rumor says that Mitt Romney will reveal his VP pick at 9:00 EDT tomorrow. Rumor FURTHER says that said pick is Paul Ryan.

If both of those thing are true, my response is...well done, Mitt Romney. Well done, indeed.

Guess I need to make a Romney icon. Though this one suffices, no matter what.

Interesting fact: I have worked for Ed in two different corporate environments (never for the same company, oddly enough). The first time, at Amex, my tenure lasted 1707 days. When this job officially ends on Tuesday, it will have been 1709 days here ( Read more... )

It was a busy one. Catherine's dance recital was Saturday, and it included a morning dress rehearsal, and me as a stage mom. So it was a very busy day.
