Manip : Promise

Hi!
This is a photomanipulation (+ a bit of digital painting) inspired by Gaja's fanfic "Promise" in which Tom is a day fairy and Bill is a night fairy.
The descriptions were so beautifuly written and vivid that I wanted to depict it.

Here is the extract I illustrated:

Bill sat in the comfortable shade under a large toadstool, knees pulled against his chest and his nose wrinkled at the sick-sweet smell of photosynthesis wafting off the grass at him as he watched the various glittery trails dart across the sky. Night was falling, though not quickly enough for Bill's liking, so the day fairies were headed home to the safety of their nests or burrows, whatever it was that their kind slept in, leaving little sparkling trails of evergreen and jade in their wake. Bill had never actually watched the day fairies before, having had no interest in seeing what subpar fairies did with their time, but even he had to admit that the way they spun around each other in flight, twisting together their trails into pretty double helixes before breaking apart and zipping away was pretty to watch. Night fairies rarely flew together, preferring instead to haunt the night alone.

Resting his chin on his knee, Bill watched the glitter fade as twilight moved in, letting himself drift into thought and chirping in alarm as a tan face poked its way over the edge of his toadstool.

"Waiting for me?" Tom asked, grinning brightly, his hair standing more on end than usual thanks to his being inverted.

"Of course not," Bill replied, picking a spot of dirt from his clothing. "I was just sitting."
