We're deep into the new t.v. season and using Tivo like crazy. But what have we spent the weekend watching? Farscape. Crewman bought the complete series at some website for $50.00 and we're rewatching the entire series ( Read more... )

I've been wanting to watch this show for a long time, is it rocking?

It seriously rocks. The writing is excellent, the actors superb and it's one of those shows that continue to grow over time. Besides what wouldn't someone like about a show that has live actors, CGI and muppets?

I loved Farscape - I have the first episode and the Peacekeeper Wars on DVD .... but next time I get some money to spare it is on my list to buy.

If you have a Netflix subscription you can watch the first three seasons on your PC for no additional charge.

Is Netflix just an American thingy? Or can us-over-the-pond use such a thing as well?

I dunno Deb. I googled it but couldn't find anything that said it was in Britain, too.

I've been working lots of overtime, and a few weeks ago I started running Farscape in the background to keep from going crazy. I've listened to, if not exactly watched, the whole series over the past month or so, and it was like having an old friend sit next to me and chat to alleviate my boredom.

That's how I felt when we started watching the first episode. There are so many that I can't wait to see again.

I bought my husband *ahem, could have been for me* the set for Christmas. I had the first two seasons, which had cost me a fortune buying them two Starbust episodes at a time. When I saw the set so cheap, I snapped it up. My daughter knew of my love for the show and gave her Dad a D'Argo figure, and I got Zhaan.

It was such a good show. I don't have any show I watch now. You'd think there would be a market for a science-fiction show with clever writing.

I know, right? There really isn't anything on now of the caliber of Farscape on American T.V. I'd almost say Firefly was the last and it was cut short. There is Dr. Who of course from the Brits and that's exceptionally well written and acted. Why we don't have something ourselves I have no idea. :-(

Man, Farscape is SUCH a weird show. Weird, weird, weird. And yet, I love it so much I cannot tell you. I keep hearing tell that the whole series can be purchased cheaply. But I bought all the Starburst editions a few years ago when I first watched the series all the way through. Someday I need to sit down and watch it all again. My problem is, when watching Farscape regularly, it is all I want to do.

It is definitely a weird show and yes, extremely addictive. This I know because I'm deep into the
Farscape world and won't surface until I've seen them all.
