Winston my beautiful dog RIP

I had him for 11 years and he left me with so many memories that will carry me forever.  I knew it was going to be hard , but I never thought it was going to be this hard. Winston was a wonderful miniature Schnauzer who never behaved like a dog.  Winston always thought he was a person and not even his illness made him change.

Oh you poor dear. I know exactly how you feel at the moment, and it's just awful. There is no easy way past grief, and like all our family, the presence of pets in our lives is so pervasive that there are constant reminders of their absences.

But I have found that after having a very good cry, it does help to sit and remember all the wonderful moments, and to construct a memorial of some sort, be that physical or photographic or literary. And, when you are ready, do something for other dogs in his name so that his positive influence on the world continues.

My love and thoughts are with you, and my happiness, too, for the great joy you and Winston brought each other.
