Have now heard back from all of the schools. One acceptance (UMass Amherst), the rest said no.

Work drama. Busy. Tired. The usual.

I'm sorry to hear that. Would you consider going to UMass, or are you thinking you may wait a year and reapply?

I am considering UMass. They're a good school in an area of the country where I have friends, and they're offering me a TA appointment with tuition comped.

Waiting a year and reapplying (to different schools) just means I'll have to do this all again next year, and some of the possible weaknesses of my application (like not having a masters in communication) aren't (obviously) changing in that time.
