I haven't seen this yet, but after reading it (and everyone else's thoughts on its bad points), I'm wondering WHO EXACTLY they are catering these movies towards: fans of the book, or simply fans of the movie? I would assume that a good majority of the people who see these movies are fans of the books, so what in the hell?
I also think Cho is ADOOOOOOORABLE! She's so much cuter than I pictured her. The girl who played Fleur just doesn't do it for me at all, though. I don't think she was right for the part. Keep in mind, though, that I still haven't seen the movie; I personally just don't get the same vibe from the actress that I got from Book!Fleur.
Well see, they are making the movies...well I'm not sure who for. But I imagine that people who haven't read the books have got to be at least slightly confused with some of the stuff said in passing from the movie.
I like Katie Leung in the role of Cho much more now that I've seen her in it rather than stills. Her Scottish accent is the sweetest thing ever.
Fluer was good in the role. But since they never mention that she's a veela I'm assuming they changed it for the movie and she no longer is a veela. As just a normal girl she works. Of course, her actual French accent isn't nearly as thick as book Fluer's was.
Yeah, once you mentioned Fleur was not a veela in the movie (which just amazes me, I see no reason at all for them to leave that out) I figured that might be why Fleur isn't, well, as alluring as she should be.
I still can't wait to see it, even if this is the book where Harry starts to turn into a normal teenager and gets a bit too angsty.
Was it the fifth book? I could have sworn someone tried to go up the stairs because they were too impatient waiting for someone (Hermione I think) to come down for the ball.
absolutely my favorite rant about the movie so far! it seems as though the movies have their own private HP universe that nobody knows about. you'd think that after the recent book's being the world's second best seller to the Christian Bible (which has been the best seller since the printing press was invented, no doubt), that they would market the movies more towards the fans.
*bows* Wow, I'm honored to have the favorite rant thus far. Everyone on my rpgs (yes, I'm a nerd) is like "It was so great!" and I'm like, WHAT? Also, I will probably see it again in theatres in an attempt to make myself like it and end up ranting some more
My rant's on my journal, but I more or less agree with what you said. I probably will go see it again and I'll probably end up buying it when it comes out on DVD because I'm a geek like that
