Thank you :) The poncho was a gift from my awesome, awesome roommate Andrea; she brought three back after visiting her family in Peru over Christmas break, knowing EXACTLY which one I'd choose - orange, with rainbow stripes. I love color, I love patterns and liveliness! (This is funny given how two years ago I wore exclusively brown, grey, blah blah and then more blah colors.) I love it, and that's the first chance I've had to really, really wear it. I felt totally comfortable and decided I'm going to Peru with Andrea next time, just so I can buy more ponchos. Tee-hee! And I did change my hair. It's actually funny - I woke up a few mornings ago and thought, hey, what'd happen if I just took this section of hair and flipped it over the other way? Two-second transformation - it's funny it never occurred to me before! Heh
What did I say in that e-mail I sent?forkingpathsMarch 11 2003, 13:41:23 UTC
Hippie! (jk) That's a really interesting thought, though (this might be a thought from a different journal entry...). Whenever I say anything bad, I always feel horrible, no matter how "true" I think my thought to be. It really does create a negative energy. It is so much nicer to dwell on the positive, to think on the 'dreamas for earthan' (tr. "the joys of earth"--or more commonly in OE--"dreamas for heofonlice rice"--the joys of the heavenly kingdom.:) Hmmmm. Needs more thought. :)

Ooooh, I like that - dreamas for earthan... that sounds so pretty, and perfect given what it's expressing! (Don't tell me how it's really pronounced, 'cause I like the way I'm thinking it!) And I know exactly the feeling of which you speak. So many crappy things happen - of course you have to talk through them, have people help you through the tough spots, but once the soreness is over you just kinda have to let the pain and frustration take flight in the wind. What good does it do to hold on to things, to dwell and make them more powerful by holding those grudges tight? It doesn't mean you have to take everyone back, or love everything everyone says, but be at peace enough with yourself to know how to find what you need without being distracted by that which is unnecessary. Love, that's necessary, I'll just focus on that! Love you, deef

You took German, so I bet you could guess how it should be pronounced. :) But yes, I really love the Old English expressions (they were an oral formulaic culture, so they often use the same refrains over and over in their writings...). I know, there are times when I'm angry that I decide rather than talk to the person about my anger, I instead think about it, and think "Is this worth talking about? Does this truly need to be addressed?" Cause once angry words are spoken, then they're out there forever...Words, much like actions, once spoken can't be taken back...
Thank you :) I love it - pictures taken by friends are the best, because you can just be you. I used to be all like, which one makes me look skinniest?! I'm so over that. Whatever shows who are, that's the best way to go - like Syd and her converse with that awesome retro dress and hat for the dance! Nothing more apt :)
