Summary: Jack in the TARDIS, after.
The rooms are all empty. There is no furniture. No windows. Just walls and doorways without doors; and when he calls, the echoes of several lifetimes.
It is dark; not too dark to see, but like the deep shadow of a house surrounded by light on a bright day. Except there is no light here, just the distance, and it gets colder with every step.
Jack walk on and finds rooms and rooms with nothing inside. No one lives here anymore. No one is here but him, and he’s not living (anymore).
He goes deeper still, through room after room, corridor after corridor, up and down stairs, looking for nothing and not finding it; every hallway is followed by another hallway. Every junction leads nowhere. There is no final wall, no centre. This place has no meaning.
Jack walks on, and he is not even his own ghost, not even a shadow, as no one knows he is here, and no one cares he is here and the walls only exist, like him.
The emptiness is deafening as he keeps wandering, relentlessly, without hope or expectations, through the silent hallways in the little box that fill the size of a planet, a universe, a world.
