We know Johnny and Evan have a strange sort of... not friendship/not enemies thing. I'd like to see one of them lose their memory (skating accident? something else? not too cracky though, please!), giving them another chance to start a friendship + relationship. Via magical bunnies and/or swangeese, if they get happy ending I would love you forever.

Good Health and a Bad Memory: Prologue/? anonymous April 5 2010, 03:29:33 UTC
"Happiness is good health and a bad memory." - Ingrid Bergman

Johnny doesn't see the accident coming at all.

He's been skating a pretty clean season - the time off to refocus and redefine his practice ethic has really paid off - and he might be maybe, just a little overconfident on the triple lutz/triple toe loop jumping pass, given how close he is to the boards at that part of the short program. (Much later on, he'll convince himself that he'd anticipated the problem and tried to correct for it, but that's just Johnny projecting a sense of control. He really didn't see it coming at all ( ... )

I will try to do my best for you! *salutes* I promise I'll be bringing Evan into it v. soon, I just want to get a buildup of Johnny's headspace first (as empty as it is at the moment, hee).

The hospital room is blue. It's pretty soothing, really, except for the horrible early-90's abstract wallpaper border along the ceiling. That sort of gets on Johnny's nerves, although he's not exactly sure why ( ... )

Johnny and the nurse work down through another couple of GOAT questions and Johnny does pretty okay until he realizes he doesn't know where he lives, or anything that happened right the accident. His first post-traumatic memory is feeling really, terrifyingly embarrassed that he doesn't remember the plump Russian woman who cradled him to her bosom right after he regained consciousness and cried a little at the vague-polite expression, the one he's started to assume when he's confused. He describes this and feels a slight flush high up on his cheekbones ( ... )

Johnny is Johnny, and my heart broke a little when he didn't remember Galina. It's so perfect.

This is amazing.

Johnny blinks at him. "Do... uh, forgive me for what is such a ridiculous question, but do I live here? Not in the hospital, clearly, but in whatever town I'm in."

So much love.
