Original prompt: People! We need more bodyswap fic! I want Johnny/Evan where they have to skate in each other's bodies and are fuming the entire time because it's so uncomfortable for them, and then Johnny uses the opportunity to say ridiculous things to the press as Evan and then they have hate!sex. Okay, I know I said I wouldn't update until I was finished but I keep thinking there's less of this fic left than there actually is. There's still way a lot left. But I'm working as quickly as I can! "I don't think there are any cults that ban figure skating," Evan says slowly. Johnny wishes he were here so Johnny could roll his eyes at him or slap him or something.

"That's not the point. The point is we need to find a way to get out of this."

Johnny goes back and forth on the decision roughly every five seconds between practice and going over to the rink, and by the time Yuki comes to get him he's feeling like he's two seconds away from a total breakdown. In a moment of weakness, he even tries saying a few more of Evan's phrases into the mirror, and pretends really hard that it doesn't help

The skate order has Johnny third and Evan last. Evan doesn't look at Johnny once while they're waiting, and Johnny doesn't want to think about him either, but he can't help but look over at him from time to time, wondering what's going on with him. Johnny knows he needs to concentrate on himself and his own skating, but the thought of Evan being in charge of where Johnny Weir is going to place makes him feel cold and breathless. And concentrating on himself isn't much better. He can't decide which would be worse, falling on his ass and having Evan beat him yet again, or skating amazingly and winning Evan Lysacek even more praise and glory. The thought of either turns his stomach, and he grimaces involuntarily and glances back over at Evan again

He goes into a few sequences of footwork. He's feeling shaky and unbalanced in a way he knows is bad in a competition, but knowing that only makes it worse, so he just gets through the footwork as best as he can, lands his double axel, and enters his first spin. There's a few more jumps after that and Johnny knows, going into the triple lutz, that at least one of them is going to get fucked up. The lutz is fine, and the triple sal is fine, but he pops the double toe that's supposed to follow it up and has to put his hand down for a second to regain his balance. He lands the triple loop and then it's more spins, change the feet, spin again, and the music is swelling and he's starting to feel lightheaded and then he throws his arm in the air and the music stops

He transitions into Johnny's footwork sequence, which he's definitely not nearly as good at as Johnny is because that really does depend on moving in the kinds of ways that Johnny can and Evan can't, but the little flare of smugness he feels over that is completely tamped down by the big numb block of ice forming in his chest.
