Stephane and Johnny hooked up several years ago - it was fantastic, awesome, hot etc, but the thing is, Stephane doesn't do repeats. Well, he does, but still insists that it's only sex and he is free to do everything he wants(ie slut around).
Basically I want OMG!afraid of commitment Stephane, who would rather screw everybody around Johnny(Trankov, Rippon, pick your choices) than admit that he is in love with him - until Johnny finds someone to fool around too.
How it goes from here is up to author!anon, but I'd prefer Johnny not to be heartbroken in the end.

Oooh, colour me intrigued! I've always thought that if anyone had a bit of a commitment-phobia, it'd be Johnny, so I'd be really interested to see it the other way around.

IA, IA. The Drew debacle really did a number on Johnny when it comes to love and relationships, pauvre bébé.

Still, I'd also like to see this the other way around.

OY! Capcha sez: The abusing :-O

Gosh, my heart breaks a little every time he talks about relationships and how he doesn't ~need anyone and whatnot. Especially considering how he was all "I think I've found true love and it's wonderful" during his time with Drew. Oh, Johnny. :_: It scares me a little how much I want him to find someone who really, really loves him. But bb deserves some happiness.

... also, now I'm imagining both Johnny and Stéphane being commitment-phobic and just quashing their feelings and hurting each other because they're both scared of getting into something serious. I THINK MY INNER ANGST WHORE IS SHOWING. D:

ikr, he was all "i believe in eternal perfect love because i've found it" and now he's all "who would marry me. i don't need anyone. it's my way or the highway." OH, JOHNNY. GET THERAPY AND A SWEET, DOTING, HEARTS-IN-HIS-EYES BOYFRIEND.

Reading things from the Drew-era is so bittersweet.

GET THERAPY AND A SWEET, DOTING, HEARTS-IN-HIS-EYES BOYFRIEND STÉPHANE.

^ I'M PRETTY SURE YOU COULD FORM THIS SENTENCE LIKE THAT AND THE MEANING WOULDN'T CHANGE AT ALL. *grin*

And ... well. /slinks off to do so

LOL, good point, bb. Stephane is sweet, has trufax heart-eyes for Johnny and we know from the _skater who hung out with them in Van that he does dote on Johnny. but silly Johnny needs the therapy so he can get over his issues and accept Stephane's laaaaaaaaaahv.

Expand the whole thing, it's the best thread ever and I want to live in it.

Yes, the whole thread posted above is great. The important part is this

He [Stephane] was horribly sweet. The rink he was using is right near the Village so afterwards we walked back and we talking about Switzerland and it turns out he's from the same town as my bf (I thought he was just born in Zurich oops) and we had a good ol chat about Martigny and had coffee and ran into Johnny at the cafe. They are very cute with each other. Stephane is very doting and teasing and Johnny acts all huffy and eye-rolly but it's obvious he enjoys the attention. They were talking about the upcoming KOI stuff in Russia and I realllllllly wanted to just sit and listen for as long as I could but I had to go down to the Oval for some time with Apolo.

I dunno why that poster didn't just make a post about her experience. I'm sure LOTS of people missed out on her comments and would love to read them.

LOL IDK, probably because its at least 95% bullshit? There are so many holes in her story it's ridiculous!

Oh, God, THIS. Thank you for saying it - I was kind of leery about bringing it up. My eyebrows went up at OLD COACH ALEXANDRE DESPATIE and never went back down. When the hell would he have had time to coach? And even if he did, what kind of shitty friend/acquaintance would you have to be to take advantage of that connection?

I saw him quite a few times in the village and we had coffee a couple times. One of the times, we were sitting there and Evan walked by and I had just been at one of his practices that morning and we waved at each other as he went by and Johnny got all mock-offended and was like 'Are you cheating on me with Evan Lysacek?!'

Was my favourite bit, because of course someone preparing of one of the biggest competitions in their lives has time to hang out with a random, not even pro, photographer.

Its amazing how many people in _skating have 'coaches' who are really important in the skating world and who can get them to meet ~top level~ skaters. Almost as amazing as how none of them ever manage to get pictures of these encounters that they can share.

I think what's more surprising to me than these people having those "coaches" is how quick they are to point out they have them and talk openly about these connections. I have a family friend who is a summer Olympian in a sport that's not popular outside of Olympic years, and his name wouldn't ring any bells to the random person on the street, but I still can't imagine posting online about my encounters with him, or my encounters with people I met through him. If I were logged in right now, I wouldn't even mention *this* much, because I value him as a friend and I wouldn't want people reading into comments I make/trying to figure out who it is/assuming whenever I mention a friend, I'm talking about him.

Point being, at the end of the day, it isn't the inability to come up with pictures that makes me suspicious. It's the people who are this quick to sell out semi-famous people they know and namedrop them to the entire internet.

Lol ok hello then. Alex was my co-coach for a while. I started out diving in Calgary in the Rocky Mountain Diving Club which is where Blythe Hartley (and her partner Emily) train, who are Alex's good friends and team mates. I moved to Quebec for a few years and continued diving there. Under Blythe's encouragement I enrolled in the same club Alex trains in. In addition to doing his own training, he often asst. and or/co-coaches the younger competitive divers. Often when you get passed group-level classes in diving and are being coached solo, you share training time with other divers with the same coach, and we both trained with Michel Larouche ( ... )
