*sighs*
No one is reading these. XD
So, this is the case where we first meet Maya. I like Maya a lot, despite her being actually pretty useless. I don't know why I bother ever asking her for advice, considering she never has anything useful to say.
I...was one of those people who wanted Ema as my sidekick. Or even Franziska.
So, "The Thinker" makes a another appearance here. Stupid statue. >.<
The thing I don't like about this case is how...anti-climatic it is. I never truly felt how important Mia was to Phoenix or Maya until much later in the games. Logically, I knew how important she had to be, being Phoenix's mentor and obviously Maya's sister, but from this case you don't get a feel for that at all.
It's a bit like "Oops, Mia Fey died~"
I'll give the writer's some credit for Maya at least; she is one of the more emotionally mature characters and tends to handle situation well, even if she appears immature on the outside. This was her sister though! I never noticed how non-nonchalant everyone was about it.
This also begins the horrible trend of Maya getting kidnapped/accused of murder/in trouble. Way too many cases involve that.
I remember thinking Edgey was an asshole the first time I played this. I kept thinking "Why is Phoenix so dead set on 'saving' him?!" I don't like trials like this; the ones where they work together to find the truth were more satisfying to me. Edgey is not much more than the "Demon Prosecutor" in this case.
I guess his character depth comes later.
And you know, I still love Phoenix's shady legal tactics. The legal system in the game is just so wrong No jury, pulling out evidence at the last minute without submitting it, the waffling judge. XD
NEXT, a case I like.
