Songs to Choreograph to (part 1?)

Jul 07, 2010 14:58

I think I shall produce a for-youtubez routine to Panic! At the Disco. But for other things, I would very much like to hear opiniones.
  • Fatboy Slim and Lateef the Truthspeaker -- Wonderful Night

    • Pros:
      • Totally funky beat and rhythm (what else could you expect from these two?)
      • Tons of dynamics and breaks to work with musicality-wise.
        • "Whether your girl look like a minga or a supermodel" is just asking for sexy flirting with the audience.
    • Cons:
      • Little bit fast.
  • GaMeBoX -- iMushroom

    • Pros:
      • Tons of cool effects to play with.
      • Fun intro to groove to in proper hip-hop style before coming together.
      • SFX at 2:26 makes me giggle with gleeeee.
    • Cons:
      • Incredibly long. Lots will have to be cut out. (luckily, I just managed to seamlessly cut out 1:04 to 2:25, keeping the original Sonic SFX, and lining the beat up PERFECTLY).
      • Extended chill-out to black ending isn't that great for an actual performance.
  • Dir en Grey -- Dozing Green

    • Pros:
      • I already have lots of ideas written down for it.
      • Would be able to tell a story that isn't just "Hey look, it's a party! We're sexy! Watch us dance!"
    • Cons:
      • Very very long, and I have no idea what I would want to cut out....
      • Not exactly good music for a mass audience, I don't think. Even though I love it so dearly.
  • Tech N9ne -- Everybody Move (Goldeneye Remix)

    • Pros:
      • Fuckin' baller, that's what.
      • Short enough to not require cutting.
      • So much energy!
      • BOND, JAMES BOND.
    • Cons:
      • I have no idea what style I would want to dance to this. It would just end up being the most turquoise of blues.
  • Panic! At the Disco! -- There's a Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought of it Yet.

    • Pros:
      • I'M A DIIIVAAAAA!
      • Epic Epicness of Charleston, Quickstep, and generic badassedness.
      • The perfect excuse to dress up in an overcoat, cane, and top hat. TOP HAT!
    • Cons:
      • No idea what sections I would cut out, but something has to go...
      • Who in the world do I know that can out-diva me? (or at least wouldn't feel ridiculous snapping and strutting to that one part).
      • I think I know why Alice's friends think I'm gay.

PANIC! (at the disco)
Bold = MUST KEEP.
Italic = will probably cut.
Normal = iono.

Please leave all overcoats, canes and top hats with the doorman
From that moment you'll be out of place and under dressed
I'm wrecking this evening already and loving every minute of it
Ruining this banquet for the mildly inspiring and...

Please leave all overcoats, canes and top hats with the doorman
And from that moment you'll be out of place and under dressed
I'm wrecking this evening already and loving every minute of it
Ruining this banquet for the mildly inspiring and...
When you're in black slacks with accentuating off-white pinstripes whoa-oh
Everything goes according to plan

I'm the new cancer, never looked better, you can't stand it
Cause you say so under your breath
You're reading lips, "when did he get all confident?"
Haven't you heard that... I'm the new cancer
Never looked better and you can't stand it

Next is a trip to the, the ladies room in vain and
I bet you just can't keep up with (keep up) these fashionistas and
Tonight tonight you are, you are a whispering campaign
I bet to them your name is cheap, I bet to them you look like shh...
Talk to the mirror, oh choke back tears and
Keep telling yourself, that "I'm a diva"
Oh and the smokes in that cigarette box on the table
They just so happen to be laced with nitroglycerin

I'm the new cancer, never looked better, you can't stand it
Cause you say so under your breath
You're reading lips "when did he get all confident?"
Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer
Never looked better and you can't stand it

(instrumental break)

Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer
I've never looked better and you can't stand it
Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer
I've never looked better and you can't stand it

And I know, and I know, it just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up
I've never been so surreptitious, so of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch

And I know, and I know, it just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up
I've never been so surreptitious, so of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch

And I know, and I know, it just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up
I've never been so surreptitious, so of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch
