Been rolling around in my head for a few days now and I'm not entirely happy with it - any feedback would be wonderful.

On the first day she had the whole wall lined with mirrors.

On the second day she was told that the dolls were made uncomfortable by the wall of mirrors. They stood in the hallway outside her window, pressed up against the glass, staring at the wall of the echoes of themselves. She was told to take down the mirrors. They took them down.

On the third day, a doll was "misprogrammed" to speak only Mandarin. They pat her on the head and said better luck next time.

On the fourth day, a doll was "misprogrammed" as a NYC undercover cop instead of a Chicago prostitute. They held a meeting.

On the fifth day, no dolls were sent out of the house.

On the sixth day, the mirrors were put back in place.

Now she is surrounded by the missing half of herself. She smiles when faces appear alongside hers and look questioningly at her. She will stand for hours and search for what is missing.

The mirrors are a reminder of what was taken away.

The dolls fill the gap again.

She plays.
