I might as well do this here to keep everything continuous and not junk up tumblr. Here's my annual year in review survey...

1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
Saw the Protomen live. Went to Dragon*Con?

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I did a better job than in previous years. I'm going to try the whole getting fit thing again and actually stick to it. I have cosplay to look good for.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nick's son was born in early 2011. <3

4. Did anyone close to you die?
A friend I hadn't spoken to in a few years passed away far too young.

5. What countries did you visit?
Not a one.

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
A portfolio and resume good enough to get me in to some costume design grad programs.

7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Ryan's passing away. As I said, we hadn't been in touch for a few years and I don't feel like I have a right to be as affected by it as others are, but I knew him in a fairly pivotal time in my geek development. He was so kind to me when I was a dorky teenager, and was the first person I knew who did amazing, highly detailed cosplay. I believe he and Derek were the two prime examples of awesome, wonderful, nice costumers that solidified my desire to turn costuming from something I did for fun into a full blown hobby.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting serious about grad school.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not making new friends, staying in my house ALL THE TIME, not finishing my Sister of Battle armor.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had a alot of food poisoning this year.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Ticket to Dragon*Con.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Clothes.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Dragon*Con. Movies.

22. Did you fall in love in 2011? Nope.

24. What was your favorite TV program? Top Gear

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? How about a concept rather than a person--Political Apathy.

38. Who was the best new person you met? I got to be waaaay better friends with Grant Martin and he went to D*C with me!

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

I'm so tired of giving up.
I am so tired of giving in.
You wake up knowing things should change,
not knowing where to begin.
This city won't say where she's going,
and she won't speak of where she's been.
So I'm breaking out of here tonight...
Don't turn your back on the city
Say a prayer for all
the children still sleeping.
Say a prayer for all the fathers
who still remember.
Say a prayer for all the girls
who've learned to stand up.
Say a prayer for all the boys
who won't surrender.
Sometimes I just want to drive
until the streets run out.
I want to burn until there's
nothing left to burn about.
This city's waiting for a better day.
When I get back there will be hell to pay.
But, if I'm the only one left standing,
I will not be afraid to fight.
I'm breaking out of here tonight.
