I think that is quoted correctly anyway. I agree one hundred percent with your response--I think The Village is probably Shyamalan's best. Visually it was absolutely the most beautiful movie I have seen in theatres in years--the opening camera shot of the silhouetted trees overhead, and the film as a whole, was more reminiscent of Hitchcock than any of his other films so far, which for me is a good thing. I actually mentioned to someone earlier today that I think M Night Shyamalan may be the best director around today. Of course there are "greater" directors around like Scorcese, but along with Wes Anderson's films, I will take a film by M Night Shyamalan for depth, subtlety and visual look over any other director today. And of course I love the Coen Brothers too, but I feel like they have slacked off on the originality end of things in their past couple efforts.
Have I mentioned how happy I am to have a Netflix account now?
