So me and ilanabean42 were spamming the crap out of each other as per usual, right? We were discussing about writing styles and how recognizable writing styles are (and the way I’m totally psychic and realized what fic was hers in a heartbeat) and then she had this Idea.

When Ryo found out that Jin was going on hiatus, he heard it from a drunk Yamapi who appeared on his doorstep late one night. He dismissed it as drunken rubbish after dumping Yamapi on his couch, a glass of cold water and a bucket next to him and promptly forgot about it.

When Ryo found out that Jin really was going on hiatus, he stared at Jin from across the table, those eyes giving him an earnest stare and a spark of something undefinable and a hint of sadness. "Are you stupid, Jin? Wait. Don't answer that. Of course you're stupid

When Ryo received his first letter from Jin, it had two sheets of paper. One was in Japanese and English (a sign that Jin really was studying and not out partying in a Pikachu outfit all autumn) and the other were a simple song with the words "I know more than 5 chords now!" in English. Ryo promptly sent a letter back saying Jin's musical skills still suck but they suck a little less than before. The next time he was practicing on his guitar with Yasu and Maru, he played Care and pushed the thoughts of Jin to the back of his mind
