When I went to rent skis and boots and shit last time?
It took half an hour, but that's because the guy was a complete dumb ass. He gave me skis that were way to big for hard pack and bumps.
(Short skis are good for bumps, long skis are good for, like, powder and slush skiing. Long skis are also good for experts, but I told him I wanted short-ish skis so I could learn.)
And then he gave boots, here's the bullshit bit, that were a full size and a half too big. He tried to give me 3 sizes to big, and I told him I wore 23.5. He wouldn't give me them, because he didn't believe me. He said they were supposed to feel snug, but not tight, and your feet shouldn't touch the end. Moron.
And that was on Mt.Bachelor. How stupid are they out here?
... i don't like salespeople who don't believe you. but worse are the ones that try to convince you that you like ... whatever. it's like, "no, i don't like it, i just said so." and they're like "but omggg it looks so good on you!"
