Aralis Tavern

Apr 07, 2011 10:07

So, I'm looking for people's opinions on what the tavern at Aralis serves. If possible, I am looking to limit options for my own ease, but if there are things that we do not serve that the general public would like to see, let me know. Do note that I'm not asking about the breakfast sandwiches since that is the favorite thing I serve at events!! So ( Read more... )

I happen to be kinda picky in what I drink, and pretty much drink only tea/hot chocolate for hot things. However, I realize that I'm picky, and usually bring a hot pot and my own supplies, so don't feel you need to add these to the tavern. Just mentioned it here because I filled out the survey without thinking.

Well, my hope is that we eventually will be at Wales. Once this is the case, I will have the opportunity to have more choices available. In fact, I already own a fancy tea case for that eventuality. But if many people were to say that they preferred an alternative hot beverage to hot cider or coffee, I would think about offering it.

I am also a big fan of hot chocolate.

Well, it would more be a hot cider OR hot chocolate OR coffee scenario since each thing takes up a plug, space in the cabin, and space in the car at least for Camp Middlesex. I think maybe the tea house has hot water though, so maybe you could get hot cocoa there?

While I voted no on being unhappy if cream cheese and smoked salmon was banished from Alasia for an eternity, I do enjoy this option -- it's just that there are so many other great options that you provide, so if you had to remove some things to save your sanity, that's fine!

Well, there is the option of keeping bagels and cream cheese and just getting rid of the smoked salmon. Right there, I would save about $15. I don't know if that would be preferable? Or would bagels and cream cheese without salmon no longer be desirable?

Bagels/cream cheese/smoked salmon is a highlight for me, and is definitely a preferable breakfast/lunch option for me to the other options presented. I don't think just bagels and cream cheese would be so much of interest to me. I know smoked salmon is not cheap though, and would be happy to chip in OOG money for it -- since I don't have a portable refrigerator, it's not something I feel I can safely bring for myself.

I do like the option, but I'd be happy without lox. Maybe you could just get lox flavored cream cheese!

I'm all in favor of water/gatorade. Also I'm personally partial to Dr. Pepper, but OTHERS seem to prefer Mountain Dew. ;) Thanks for all your do to supply us with a tavern experience that keeps us well fed and refreshed!

Be well

I try to be responsible about my own food at larps, but I checked off the options that I have bought and am most likely to buy in the future. That being said, I am always ready to feed myself if I don't like what I see, etc.

Given that there is a substantial oog cost associated with running the tavern, I certainly do desire for whatever I bring to be well received. On the same end of things, if I can totally cut out options that are not needed then that also translates into savings for me - for example many options of soda.

Interesting - it seems like you can pick 2/3 from stew/chili/meatball subs for any given session and satisfy most or all of the respondents as far as dinner options go.

Actually, I would read that as people want a hot option and have some preferences for the other stuff, but would be willing to go with just about anything or wish only stew. Thus, stew is the preferred choice.

I voted for chili, and (root)beer. ... all my other votes can be counted as being for more beer :-)

haha. :-) Well, you are in luck with the chili at least. It looks like Doal will be making his chili for the next event and it will likely be available from Friday night until it is gone. As to the root beer, well, there is only so much that I can fit in the car. :-)
