As far as strategic talks went, it wasn’t the most engaging that Fernando had ever been forced to sit through. It could have been okay if it was short, but this one was long and complex and after an hour Fernando was struggling not to fall asleep in his chair. At least he wasn’t the only one; looking around the room he found 90% of his team mates in similar slumped positions.
Letting out a deep sigh, he let his attention drift from spot to spot around the room, never stopping on any singular object for too long before moving restlessly on. Every now and then his eyes would gaze longingly out the window - it was a gorgeous day outside and he was dying for this break to be over.
“...at which point we will move into position to...”
The crinkle of a candy wrapper caught his attention and Fernando looked over curiously to see Sergio with a lollipop in his hand, the defenders tongue was poking thoughtfully out the corner of his mouth as his long nimble fingers pulled and tugged at the bright red wrapper trying to find an opening. He squinted at the base of the stick and yanked at the plastic before finally giving up and using his teeth to create his own opening.
Sergio’s apparent delight at finally getting the lolly open was far more interesting than the droning talk so Fernando continued to watch as Sergio unwrapped the bright red lolly with a flourish and popped it into his mouth with a self satisfied smirk on his face. Fernando could almost hear him inwardly congratulating himself on a job well done.
Ramos - 1. Lollypop - 0.
Shaking his head amused, Fernando turned his eyes to the front of the room and did his best to tune back in to the presentation. But if paying attention was hard, it was even harder to pick up the strand of the talk when you missed the first half. The effort made Fernando’s head ache so he returned his thoughts out the window wondering whether... wait... what the hell was that sound? Fernando glanced around the room trying to find that culprit of that odd clicking sound and his gaze finally stopped on Sergio who was rolling his lollipop along his back teeth absentmindedly as he plucked at a stray thread at the base of his shirt.
Click click click click, click click click click.
Okay... that was annoying. Fernando felt the vague desire to race across the room and yank the lollipop from his mouth. Whether he felt his eyes on him or not, Fernando wasn’t sure, but suddenly Sergio was looking lazily over and meeting his gaze.
They looked at each other for several long seconds before Sergio’s gaze suddenly turned wicked. He waited patiently until he had Fernando’s full attention before pulling the lolly slowly from his mouth with a small pop.
Fernando blinked surprised and bemused. Did he just...? He couldn’t seriously be attempting some sort of seduction with that lollipop could he?
Sergio returned the lolly to his mouth, swirling the tip with his tongue before sucking it back inside.
Oh fuck he was. Fernando rolled his eyes and shook his head letting him know exactly what he thought about his little game, but Sergio just grinned around the little white stick and began clicking it annoyingly against his back teeth once more.
Fernando crossed his arms over his chest and returned his eyes to the front of the room, desperately trying to pick up the strand of the talk. Anything to keep his eyes from straying back to where they really wanted to settle. But against their own accord his eyes kept drifting back to Sergio who looked like he was enjoying that lollipop a little too much to be appropriate.
The lollipop was bright red and shiny as hell, Fernando could almost feel the sticky texture between his fingers as Sergio sucked it into his mouth. His cheeks hollowed in as he sucked at the candy swirling it absentmindedly from side to side before pulling it from his mouth and licking his tongue around it lazily.
He was staring. Fernando was pretty damn sure that Sergio didn’t have to look over to know it; his gaze was so hot he was surprised it wasn’t burning through the fabric of Sergio’s clothes. It was undeniably sexual to watch that bright red lolly disappear, reappear and grow progressively smaller as it swirled around in Sergio’s mouth.
His lips were stained from the red candy; Fernando watched his bottom lip pulled between his teeth as Sergio ran the lolly along his full bottom lip before drawing it into his mouth and sucking away the residue. He repeated the action lazily before sucking the lolly back into his mouth and looking over to meet Fernando’s eyes. They were dark and filled with wickedness, seemingly unconcerned by the heat and desire that looked back.
Fernando shifted uncomfortably, his eyes not wavering from Sergio’s mouth as he vaguely wondered what else those lips and tongue could do. The very idea was enough to get his heart racing and palms itching with the desperate desire to reach out and yank that lollipop from Sergio’s mouth and replace it with...
“On that note, let’s wrap this up. Vacation is over. I want you all on the pitch in fifteen minutes...”
Fernando’s eyes flew to the front of the room as everyone stood, their chairs clattering noisily against the floor boards. Before he could even begin to pull himself together Sergio was standing from his own seat and walking over to him with purposeful strides. Fernando sunk down into his chair, running his fingers nervously into his hair.
Sergio didn’t say anything; just reached into his pocket and pulled out a second lollipop. Fernando looked at it, his eyes drifting over the vivid purple wrapper that proclaimed it to be grape flavoured.
Sergio held it out to him his face amused and an unspoken challenge in his eyes. “It looked like you wanted one,” he smirked.
