afterward, i headed from Capitol Hill down to the ferry terminal. on the way, i saw an amazingly heartwarming sight:

Wow! Very cool! Thanks for sharing!

That particular area pictured above is one I'll always associate with Pride, as that's where the parade route started that year I was in it ('99).

yeah, that corner is a pretty important one in Seattle. i have a personal preference for spontaneous events over planned ones, which is why this and the Battle connect in my head as being exemplary. to me, planned events are what we want to be, while spontaneous ones are what we are.

also, i've made a couple of minor edits, notably one with a link to a friend's more professional pictures of the event.

Current 93? Really? How cool. And how predictable that Seattle would celebrate in such a way. I miss Seattle so much!

it was that or Sol Invictus's Sol Veritas Lux. i decided that the "Benediction" of C93's album was more appropriate, though, so just let it play after that track.

Overall it was estimated at 3,500 to 4,000 people in the streets. I believe that's the combined figure for Capitol Hill and downtown (1st & Pike area). There were also impromptu parades between the two masses.

I love our city. :D

that's awesome. considering that the parties were even more spread out (people were celebrating all along Broadway, and i saw many celebrations much further south than Pike on First), i imagine that the numbers were even higher than that.

Seattle is an amazing town. not flawless, but still a great place.
