anatomy of a morning

as usual, i am awoken by the clawing of carpet and of cat pushing against my bedroom door. the clock reads 7:18. i can always rely on those noises at that exact time. the cats internal clocks are amazing. unfortunately, the cats do not allow me to get any sleep so i must close my door. get up and walk to the kitchen as 3 cats scurry underfoot ( Read more... )

The waking, the cats, the shower. Those are constant. Everything else is optional. I had a regular morning routine for most of school, but I'm sporadic now. Especially since I haven't touched an alarm clock in more than half a year... And I always have to be at work at 9. The cats are a reliable alarm. Today, Julius thought he'd wake me at 6, and he did. So I threw his ass outside and slept-in till 8.
