car woes n' shows

[car rant] i'm carless. the ecm chip in my car died last Friday while i was driving on mopac. they finally got the new computer installed Wednesday. i also got a tire replaced that had a slash in it. they told me my exhaust was leaking. i've bottomed out a few times so i can understand some damage. $650 for them to fix it though? christ! it

is your car under warranty still?

I may be able to take you guys tonight, it depends on how my eye is doing (the other day I either scratched the shit out of it or got an infection...so I wore my glasses to work yesterday, and subsequently broke them. but only a little bit. enough that I had to wear them around the office with scotch tape partially obstructing one of the lenses. I looked really cool there, heh. then when I was at home trying to fix them I managed to somehow snap the other side of the frames so now they are completely fucked. so I either had to wear an eyepatch to work today (I seriously considered this option) or say "fuck it" and try going through the day with a contact over my infected eye...so if my eye holds up and I think it can make it through tonight, then yes, I can take youse guys...

yeah, they replaced the ecm chip and did some other things under warranty... but the exhaust problem is from damage/neglect/bottoming out or such, so no warranty coverage.

eek, that sucks about your eye/glasses. google scatched eye. your eye is more important than my car or califone, and i'm sure i can find a ride.

hey, what time is califone? my friend kathleen (twinggle) told me to check them out a long time ago and i totally forgot! if the show doesn't start until later, i may be able to go. i am meeting with someone around 8 about possibly renting a house, so i don't know how long i'll be doing that, but maaaybe. do you know what time they go on? i can pick you guys up if the time thing works out.

1 or 2 of the guys from califone worked with issac brock on the ugly casanova project. they say doors @ 8, show @ 10... and there are two openers (whom i don't know), so there's time to spare. we'll be in touch! :)

i just put four hundred dollars into my car for a new computer and a new ignition switch. next i have to get a new tire. ugh.

doh, I forgot about the show tonight. I was planning on going home and messing w/ new computer parts, but if things change I may end up going to the show with Tray.
