alternately, maybe I'll get rid of livejournal, email, and aim and go back to snail mail! getting letters in the mail is fun! *looks for envelopes* *buys stamps* *writes letters* *puts letters in envelopes* *affixes stamps to letters* *finds mailbox* *drops mail into box* *twiddles thumbs in anticipation of reply* *checks mail* *checks mail* *checks mail* *writes new letters in case first letters weren't received* *checks mail* *checks mail*
...or maybe not. but I'm still sad about the death of the well written letter.
the days since our last encounter have left me anxious and uneasy. i grow weary of the dark hours whiled away alone in front of the fireplace.
how have you been? things are good here on the farm. we had a good harvest, and i am certain we will have enough to brave the coming winter. perhaps eleanor will find the time to knit me a scarf for those bitter nights!
forsooth. as you well know, i have seen much in my years, but nothing could have prepared me for the sight of your mother's ghost yester eve. aye but it chilled me to the bone.
just a few more hours by the fire, and i think i shall be ready to retire.
i hope this missive finds you well rested and well fed.
